Do you feel depressed?

Does this lead to low motivation and low interest in things?

Does your emotional pain keep you down and stuck? Does it almost feel like its becoming a physical pain?

Does your depression get in the way of connecting with others, sleeping well or do you find yourself looking to food or substance abuse?

When depression gets in the way of living the life you want, it can feel defeating and lead to hopelessness. Some eat more or less then would be healthy, while others get drunk or high to escape these feelings. Some know exactly where the hurt and sadness came from, others have no idea. These feelings also may lead to isolation from supportive others and your goals. In addition, this struggle can be hard for others to understand who don’t experience similar depression, leaving you feeling very alone.

Depression, Dysthymic disorder, and general sadness, come from hurt, emotional or physical. This hurt transmits into worry, all together telling us that something is wrong. Then it tells us to get out of possible danger and get help. These are natural feelings and essential to our survival. However, sometimes the chemicals that produce these reactions get carried away and cause damaging depression that put our lives on hold and make us feel hopeless.

Due to this, depression is very common. People of all ages, races, spiritualities and orientations all experience depression and for many, its serious. Life is filled with hard times and various types of loss, so these feelings often find their way into our minds.

The good news, however, is that with the help of a compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated therapist, you can learn to manage, cope with and overcome your depression, so hopelessness is lifted, and you can find your motivation and happiness in life, once more.

In our sessions we’ll process your sad and hurt feelings and where they might be coming from. Then, we can tackle triggers to avoid them or be prepared for them, so when they arise, we are ready to still move forward. We will also problem solve, to decrease negative aspects, of life. You will learn healthy coping, to sooth yourself and develop healthy supports, all of which will help motivate you and get you through your more difficult times. Healthy distractions can take you away from your depression, without having to engage in unhealthy escapism. Talking through what caused you hurt, we will look at your strengths and to empower you. We’ll celebrate your accomplishments and keep you motivated, to keep moving forward.

If you believe you can live a happy, healthy life and you are willing to try, then this is a great start.

I have worked with clients dealing with various depression and hopelessness for over 10 years. I am open minded and provide nonjudgmental guidance, coaching and therapy. I have helped many work through their pain to a more fulfilled, happy, and empowered life. Clients are no longer suffocating in their sadness, and they conquer barriers to accomplish their goals. It is possible! Some developed depression because of trauma while others were born with a chemical imbalance. Either way, having support, understanding and a professional to help to navigate and motivate you can be the key to unlocking your new, best life.

You may have some concerns or objections to therapy. We can talk about these and hopefully figure them out, together. Counseling is an investment of time and money in yourself and your future. I currently provide phone and doxy (video) sessions, so you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home. Talking about and working through tough issues, such as depression, is never easy, but the life you can find, through this work will be much fuller, happier, and healthier, then it was before.

If you can identify with any of these or feel this may be helpful to you, there are a few ways you can learn more! E-mail or call me to schedule a free 20-minute consultation. Or you can read more in my blogs, which are updated regularly. If you want free emails of my blogs, just email me and let me know.
